Living Simply During the Holidays...
I'm starting to gear up for all the holiday hub-bub. Every year it seems like the Christmas trees and decorations make their appearance in the stores earlier and earlier. As a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom), I often frequent the local Kroger and Target on my daily journey for milk, yogurt and tights for C's Halloween costume. I am bombarded by the Christmas music and lights from the moment I walk in the store. It is my mission this year to remember to LIVE SIMPLY during the holidays. I will "get in and get out" as quickly as possible and only buy what I need. I want to maintain my sanity and enjoy the Christmas season, while building strong traditions that will remain with C for the rest of her life. Here's to baking cookies, building gingerbread houses and watching The Polar Express with a huge mug of hot chocolate! I will not be sucked into the commercialism that seems to drive our minds during this festive time of year. Scrooge I am not, but just a Mom that's trying to live simply in a time where bigger equals better and High School Musical is not for those who attend High School at all. I challenge you to focus on those really small moments where you are building memories, not the pile of gifts under the tree.
